Projects
Tomorrow’s Youth Organization
Learning Design & Facilitation
Located in the West Bank, Tomorrow’s Youth Organization (TYO) provides holistic education, employment, and health services to Palestinian families. I partnered with the organization’s leadership to embed evidence-based best practices throughout the organization with experiential, blended capacity building programs.
-
As TYO approached its next phase of growth, there was a need to reimagine the future of the organization and refresh programmatic approaches according to the latest research.
-
Using innovative consensus-building methods, TYO staff collaborated on a new mission, core values, and code of conduct that was centered on a trauma-informed approach. They also experienced the power of project-based learning, a core feature of the organization’s future plans.
-
100% of workshop participants at Tomorrow's Youth Organization recommended the program be integrated in training for future staff members. TYO also walked away with numerous staff-developed artifacts to incorporate in their organizational redesign.
IREX
Strategic Planning & Evaluation
As an external evaluator of IREX’s Education for Coexistence - Iraq (ECI) project, I measured the effect of training programs on educators’ ability to implement trauma-informed, participatory learning practices. Now, I work on applying learnings from ECI to the School-Based Civic Engagement for Reconciliation (SFR) program, which aims to establish the first mock parliament and service learning programs in secondary education in Anbar and Ninewa.
-
Our challenge was to develop program measurement strategies that would be feasible, reliable, and cost-effective in a post-conflict environment.
-
Evaluation practices were improved by streamlining data collection processes, integrating further triangulation, and infusing hands-on capacity building for local partners each step of the way.
-
IREX now has a roadmap for program evaluation that measures the effectiveness of each aspect of its theory of change, from the individual level to the community at large.
Panorama Education
Learning Design & Facilitation
A leading educational technology company, Panorama Education equips educators in more than 1,500 school districts with the tools to understand students’ social-emotional skills and establish multi-tiered systems of support. As a facilitator for Panorama, I partner with schools and districts to deliver professional learning, develop strategic implementation plans, and design initiatives to improve student learning and wellbeing.
-
Educators need support making sense of large amounts of student data and moving from insight to action.
-
Through tailored workshops and consultations, educators have the opportunity to practice using Panorama tools to address real-world challenges. They are also introduced to innovative protocols to collaborate on meaningful solutions.
-
Thousands of educators have leveraged Panorama tools to improve their practice as a result of workshops I have led. In a survey of 2,387 workshop participants, 2,064 (86%) reported having a very or extremely positive experience relative to other professional development sessions.
